Information: Time: Between 14h00 – 16h00! After Monique studied music at TUT, she landed the lead role in
Richard Loring’s “Girl Talk 2000.” Shortly thereafter, she released her debut
title track — a duet with Snotkop — “Ek Val Vir Jou.” This marked the start of her professional singing career, earning her two
Tempo Awards (Best Dance Album and Best Music Video) as well as an MK Award.
For Monique, her second solo album, Pienk Champagne, is “the best
representation of who she is as an artist.” She feels that her career has
progressed very naturally and grown organically since its release. Her album, Mosaïek, was released under Coleske Artists, and her
powerful single “Die Boom” earned her a Ghoema nomination for the Most
Streamed Afrikaans Song of 2018. She also shines as a “wentor” (mentor) on the popular talent development TV
series Die Kontrak. Both of her contestants, Demi Lee Moore and
Samantha Leonard, were named winners in their respective seasons, and since
then the two have gone on to build remarkable careers. She is no stranger to major stages and appears year after year in
productions such as Afrikaans is Groot and Lexus Pop Classics. Monique has a voice
like no other and is an icon in her own right.
